about
This is the first offering from The Fairy Ring as a newly (un)structured duo, as well as the opening track from their forthcoming album. It is an excellent introduction to the bizarre and feral dimension these woodland mystics call home, and they beckon you to join them there. Just don’t get stuck, lest the foundation dissolve from around your very consciousness. Elements of drone and noise guitar underlay a body of acoustic familiarity amidst cautionary flute, enchanting vocals, and subtle auditory hints of those things which lurk in the shadows of the thicket. All of this culminates in an ending which leaves the listener wondering whether these spritely spirits are clumsy, crafty, or a bit of both.
lyrics
The strangest flowers I picked today
And ancient powers I now display
Lost are the hours of the day
Will you cower or will you pray?
Pendulous flowers, fragrant blooms
Absorb the pallor of the moon
Tolahaché's soul consumed
Place these blossoms on my tomb
